messing up a haricut and owning to help fix client hair is not there

My daughter went there for the first time, provided a pic of the style of cut she wanted, hair stylist cut and styled it with curls, not what she wanted to but because it was cut she assumed it will be fine once washed. washed her hair the day later to find out that the cut was different than what was asked but styled in a way so the layers looked shorter... we go in to ask them to thin out the layers, and they refuse to fix it. "I can't fix it, I can't thin it out" but if you make a new appointment and I charge you for wash and style then I can fix it. what the heck is that? Are we that lost where are not only focusing on financial gain from a customer and now customer/client satisfaction? ? what are we instilling here for customers, that we can screw up, not own mistake if you mess with your hair cut, BUT if you pay me again I will fix it. I would have to come back to pay if you had done it right the first time. who pays for my time and effort it takes for me to come back??
