I went for the second time today. The first time I did not know what to expect ie the scalp massage. I also did not know then to tip the hair washer (I did today!). When I went it was really slow, and the place was quiet. Lisa cut my hair, and did what no stylist has been able to do: bring out my natural curls! Now I have wavy curls that have been weighed down by thick hair. Since I did not know who would cut my hair, I brought a picture, but I also bought suggestions in Chinese of what I would like done (using thinning shears). I read some people has past issues with language, this may have helped. As for the pay, I paid a little under $20. I think the different pricing is based upon what the stylist feels they should charge. I had thick hair past my shoulders, and compared to what I would have paid (and have paid in Park Slope) this was amazingly reasonable.
