This is my third visit here. My first two haircuts were great and it seems like the third time is really the most charming. Liz, who cut my hair today, did an amazing job refreshing my curly bob. Those of us with curly hair who live in the San Jose area have to deal with some of the hardest water in the country, which is a curl killer. Liz knew how to cut my hair and style it to bring back the curly bounce I've missed. Overall, a cute salon with a relaxing vibe. They don't have a parking lot so you may want to arrive early; there's usually ample parking nearby.

So i want to share my personal experience with Sanctuary salon. To start off, the only reason this salon is receiving 1 star instead of ZERO is because their hair styling is great, too bad the customer service (including the owner) is extremely unprofessional. I called 2-3 weeks before to make an appointment on Feb 20, 2018. 3 days before Friday morning I was asked to cover another girl's schedule at work coming Tue (Feb 20). So I called the same day to cancel my coming appointment. My first line was "I can't make it Feb 20, please cancel". Also tried to fit in Annette's schedule, but she gets booked very fast. On wed Feb 21 I can see that I was charged not only cancellation fee ($50) but the price of the service itself ($130). Seriously?!! Called the salon. Left a message. Called again. Finally could speak to the owner/manager Annette, who told me that the receptionist couldn't make a mistake because ... that's her daughter and she's a professional. Seriously??!!! So basically they refused to refund even when I told them I have a screenshot of call history, date and duration of the call. So basically no service, was charged $180, now have to deal with the bank and plus Annette told me that they know when it's me every time I call the salon ... because of my heavy accent. SERIOUSLY???! That's just rude. I pay a lot of money and I want to be treated nice, that's just ridiculous. So I guess I'll be looking for a new salon now.

I visited Sanctuary Salon for the first time this evening, and I will definitely be back. The receptionists at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing. Linda, my stylist, was top notch. She cut my hair perfectly. It has been a challenge trying to find a stylist who is able to do an A-line cut well. My last hair cut was choppy and uneven. She was able to fix my hair without going too short. I feel like a million bucks now. Linda is awesome!

Unreliable. My first appointment was scheduled a week ahead of time and canceled due to a "medical emergency" for the stylist. We rescheduled and it was fine but I was not offered a discount. Months later I made another appointment (over a week ahead of time) and I was called 2 days prior to be reminded of my appointment (and that they had a strict cancellation policy). One day before my appointment I receive a call telling me that the stylist also had a "medical emergency" and had to cancel. The fact that this happened more than once speaks volumes to the professionalism and reliability of the business. I will not be returning.

Manny is an absolute gem! I went in thinking I was getting just a trim and got so much more, for the price I was quoted! I've never been so happy with a haircut, especially as a first time customer. The salon has a nice atmosphere and very friendly staff. Will definitely be returning!
