This place has gotten better over the years. Natalie did such an amazing job on my hair and gave me exactly what I wanted and gave me an honest opinion of how she thought a style might look on me. I'm gonna be a faithful customer here after spending a long time trying to find a place that'll do it right.

Just left this location and Debbie was AWESOME!!! We've been coming here for 3 years with my lil boy and although we have been relatively pleased, Debbie hands down was the best! She listened to a Mom when asked what was to be done(not always the case. Stylists there have looked annoyed in the past) and did an even better job then anticipated. We will be back to see Debbie soon!!!!

Great Clips is hit and miss as it completely depends on the stylish. Lana at the Great Clips in McHenry is the BEST EVER ANYWHERE. I have straight, fairly fine hair. There is nothing tricky about my hair in theory, but Lana is on of the few people ~ever~ who managed to give me a haircut that looks good and holds. Great Clips typically just looks at my hair, cuts it in a straight line, and says they are done. That is not a haircut; that is a bad trim. So, three stars for the hit-and-mostly miss-ness but a gazillion stars for Lana and their wilingness over the years to let me wait for her. I am so very sad that Lana retired. I would gladly drive hours for her to cut my hair.

Worst haircut ever. I went in to get my hair thinned out, told the gentleman who was going to do it that I didn’t want my hair to get cut I wanted long hair. He showed me I had a small tail in the back longer than the others and asked to cut the tail I said okay, he showed me how much and I was fine with that. Then he decided to just chop the tail off and continue cutting the rest of my hair. He thinned it out perfectly but I didn’t ask for a hair cut and he cut all my hair off. My hair was halfway down my back when I went in, when I left it was so short it was cut to my neck shorter than the shoulders! Then he insulted my 5 year old my saying he could have a sucker my son said he wanted pink and he said u can’t have pink it’s not a boy color. Excuse me last time I checked it was a flavor of a sucker that he likes who cares what the color. He made me pay for the haircut that I didn’t ask for or like. I went home crying, husband calls and complains, I go back in and they refund my money and I ask them to try to fix the hair to make it look somewhat okay, lady manager spends maybe 3 minutes “fixing” my hair and then has the nerve to ask me if I’ll ever come back. Are you serious? Of course not!! I heard he shaved another girls head and messed it up the same day as mine! Why is he still working there he doesn’t know what he’s doing! My hair is ruined and I am upset that nothing but a refund was done about it! Worst service ever. Will not be taking my son or myself back there. I recommend hair cuttery across the street same price and better quality.
