It was my first time visiting the salon. I went in to get a full head of highlights. Thought it was a good place to try since it is in my hometown and has convenient hours due to the fact that I work in the city. What started out to be a great appointment, great conversation with the stylist turned into a big disappointment. Although I had partial highlights in my hair, the stylist had decided to use a dye formula more suitable for untreated hair. And when asked if I my hair was colored, I had said no because all of my hair was not colored just the highlights and touch-up on the roots. Apparently the lack of me telling her that my roots had been touched up made a big difference. Hence the formula for untreated colored hair. After ten minutes of sitting under the dryer, the color did not lift. It was after 15 minutes under the dryer that we figured out that due to the dye used for the touch-ups the color was not lifting. I did not know there was a difference in formulas for untreated and treated hair. On top of that, considering that I already had existing highlights in my hair, doesn't one conclude that my hair is color treated hair???? Why would you use a formula for otherwise. So after 25 minutes, hair washed, a very messed up highlighting job where some roots are done but ends aren't, or nothing at all, the stylist offered to at least do a free blow dry even though it is not included in the pricing. How nice! But even the blow dry was just that of free quality. Not completely blown out, left with partially dry hair, partially wet, some straightened, most not. Mind you, I was notified multiple times that a blow dry is not included in the pricing. Advice given was to come back and get my hair dyed one color then try again with highlights. Why would I come back when my VERY first experience was disappointing and pay more money when it should have been done right the first time. Other than the so called free blow dry, nothing else was offered for the mistake that occurred. I basically went to give away money and get my hair washed.
