Three good things: Stefanie, sweet & salty treats and the coffee.
I was asked to sit on the couch in the back while I waited, I stepped in something and wasn’t sure what it was until I looked down to see dog poop. I had seen a dog up front and thought that was slightly odd for a spa but thought it stayed in the front. No, it’s allowed to go wherever hence the poop by the couch.
Stefanie did a great job and was very thoughtful throughout my manicure :)
My mum and I met for a duet pedicure which started off good with the coffee and snacks were good!
Alysa (who is apparently an owner?!?) started to insinuate that my mum had a “fungus” due to the shape of her toenails, which is false because they are hereditary. (My mum has foot care training as well) Alysa informed my mum that she would not be able to paint her nails due to the fungus. She then came back and said my mum could chose a colour from their downstairs shop I believe and wouldn’t charge my mum for that (which she never ended up getting?) She kept going on about her “training” but didn’t really elaborate on that so not sure what that means. She next referred one of my mums feet as “rotten” which is rude, unnecessary and totally untrue. Alysa didn’t really have social skills and wasn’t able to read the room. As she kept going on and on about fungus and her training, the rest of us set there in awkward silence. I’m not sure how you think if you talk to people like this that they will come back again?
Pretty disappointed in this experience especially for my mum, who wanted to have a relaxing pedicure but got a rude and unnecessary “medical” assessment. Although they didn’t charge me for the gel polish on my feet, which makes up for the dog poop incident I didn’t really feel like they valued us when they talked like this.
If in fact Alyssa is an owner I won’t be coming back to support her business. Maybe if there’s new ownership we’ll come back.
