I just had my long hair permed, and cut and April was fantastic. Beyond being a trained hairdresser with over 10 year experience, she has a business diploma, so she runs a great place, employs great staff and knows what it means to bring a successful business to the streets of Brantford.
First I had to change my appointment up a few days earlier, and she accomodated- no questions, no hassle. Next she prepared me for what to do before my perm, advised me about hair washing, how to be gentle to my scalp, and what to expect, time wise for my appointment.
When I got there, she was ready- no need to wait for my appointment. Next she helped me pick my look with suggestions from photographs, and discussion about my lifestyle and how I wanted my hair to be for the next few months.
She was courteous, and although I had never met her before we had great conversation for the 4 hours I was there. She suggested using different sized rollers to give a more nautral look, showed my various products for my hair, informing me what they do, where to buy them. Not once asking me to buy them there, not once pressured me for other services.
The place was clean, nicely decorated, adequately staffed and for a small business was run efficiently and with professionalism. While I was there there was a steady stream of friendly people coming for tanning or other services, no one looked sketchy, dirty and all were welcomed by staff or April herself. Some were Univeristy students, some were other adults.
She answered all my questions, about kids cuts, guy cuts, and about the local businesses on the steet. She told me how to care for my hair, how long should I wait before another perm or a colour treatment.
As for price and quality, ...definately I think I got my money's worth and more.
I will definately be back, and will bring my kids for the kids cut too- likely best deal in town. She even has a referral program and frequent cut discount card.
I think I have actually found "my hairdresser", the person you trust to make you look beautiful.
