To be honest, I was looking for a way to message privately to sort this out but with this salon it didn't seem to be an option.
I went in to get a full set of acrylic stiletto nails last Thursday for a wedding I was going to be in on Saturday.
I called in the morning to see if they had an appointment for 1:30. It would have been fine if they hadn't, I would have made an appointment for later in the day as I had somewhere I needed to be at 3. A full set of Acrylics with design has never taken longer than an hour and a bit in my past experience.
They said they could accommodate me so I drove from Burlington to Hamilton to get my nails done.
I arrived and a woman sat down to file my nails. I told her they were very thin and sensitive. She didn't seem to understand. Things got a little "hot" at points from the drummel file! She put the tips on and left me, telling me that the other girl needed to apply to acrylic..... ok. So I sat and waited for about half an hour. While I waited, yet ANOTHER girl, sat down and tried to cut my nails in the shape I wanted them. It was a very bad job. I could have done a better job myself.
After finally getting to meet with the second girl, (the one who seemed most competent) she refiled the nails to a better shape and then left me again. (There was another woman there getting very intricate nails done.... This is the exact reason I made an appointment.... so this sort of thing wouldn't happen!)
The original lady came back and applied a layer of acrylic on each nail. She didn't try very hard to make sure the nails were the same thickness/followed the shape and also didn't seem to care if the acrylic was brushed on to my skin. I was pulling acrylic off of my skin for a few days.... That's how much she got on my skin!
I'm sure if I had of been accomodated and put ahead of someone who probably didn't have an appointment, or explained they didn't have enough time in the beginning I would have been fine. I would have either rescheduled or left and come back another time.
Anyways, last but not least, I had to LEAVE without my nails being done! This is the point of having an appointment. I have a job, I have to have a schedule.
They were about to paint the nails so I assumed that they were DONE. I would paint them at home myself.
I get home and I'm looking at them. The acrylic doesn't come CLOSE to being near my actual cuticle. I had to reshape them myself (I am an Aesthetician so I know what I'm doing, I just don't do my own Acrylic Nails.... I just might start!) It looks like I've had these nails on for a week or two on the first day! One was already coming loose the next day and today I fully have lost one and another two are very loose. I am VERY upset. I will never be returning and never recommend these people to anyone. I want my money back.
