Would not honour a gift certificate I paid for at a charity auction. Manager and front desk we're extremely rude about it. I did phone to confirm if the particular gift certificate was still valid and I was told that it was. My bad I didn't check before I actually had the haircut so when I went to pay they said no it's expired. So I paid for an extremely expensive average haircut. don't go there.

Why sell a product you don’t accept?

I called on April 10th 2022 to book a message I purchased with Joseph Coiffures. They told me that my gift certificate was no longer valid at this location!? They told me because I purchase this at Rideau Center and the location no longer existed, they didn’t accept this gift certificate. But they have the same name!? And, the certificate has no expiry date… I asked to speak to a manager and then the receptionist Cathy came back to tell me the supervisor said I could go to the salon Farnandino in Rideau Center and they would honour my gift certificate. I emailed Fernandino and they responded they don’t take another company’s gift certificates. I strongly believe Joseph isn’t an ethical salon nor do they care about their customers. They are basically telling me that I spent money on a certificate to put it in the trash. It was never addressed that the certificate was location purchased only and as far as I can remember, it was expressed that I was able to use it at any location. The management of this company is a fraud.

I have been coming to Joseph's for years and now it feels more like I am visiting with friends than going to a place of business. Years ago when my regular stylist left I got a haircut from Valentina. Lucky day for me and I only deal with Valentina ever since! I don't even need to tell her what to do to my hair. I just sit down in the chair and let her do what she does and it's always perfect. The entire time she's cutting my hair we have some great conversation and a few laughs. When you go for a haircut it's supposed to be an opportunity to take a bit of a break and relax and leave the salon feeling like a million bucks! Mission accomplished every time!

Ask for Valentina and just trust her. I hadn't dyed my hair in years and wanted a change, was referred to Valentina by a gf who has been going to her for a long time and was beyond happy. Seriously talented and incredibly lovely. I let her know what I was thinking, she advised me on what would look best and totally wowed me. She's been my go-to ever since.

Valentina is such a sweetheart. Iâ€™m just so happy with her service. Hereâ€™s my story: I have anxiety and in my early teenage years, I started to pull out my hair because of it. I havenâ€™t been to a hairdresser since I was at least 14, and Iâ€™m now 20. I was a bit nervous in going to hairdresser because I have weird regrowths under my hair and my hair is not even at all. My plan was to go in there, get an undercut, to clean up my odd lengths and leave. What happened next was extremely unexpected. Valentina asked me what made me want an undercut, and I told her because I used to pull out my hair and the regrowths make it look messy when I tie it up. I then told her I was scared to be judged, which is why I havenâ€™t cut my hair in years. She looked at me and said: â€œhun, it happens to more people than you think. I have a lot of clients who are in your shoes. But Itâ€™s my job to make peopleâ€™s hair pretty again. I got you, trust me.â€ She made it so easy. She was super honest and even suggested I should wait another couple of months before getting an undercut. I used to trim my hair at home, and she was so honnest that she pointed out where I cut it wrong and gave me advice on how to cut my hair at home without repeating the same mistakes. She even said I could come in and sheâ€™ll trim my bangs for free if she has too, just so I donâ€™t mess up my hair again. She cleaned out my hair and Iâ€™m just in love with it right now. Sheâ€™s obviously not in this for the money, but more for the pride and peopleâ€™s well-being. She was so supportive and empathetic, I couldnâ€™t believe it. It was like a much needed therapy session, too. She understood me, she even suggested tips that worked for her other clients who pulled their hair to help me ease my stress. If ever youâ€™re in Ottawa, ask for Valentina. Sheâ€™s so sweet and has a huge heart. Itâ€™s obvious she chose the right career. Yeah she cuts hair perfectly, but her personality and big heart make you wanna go back, especially for people like me. Not too many people are like that nowadays and itâ€™s heart warming. I gave it a 4 starts because the lady that took my payment was rude. By accident I pressed cancel instead of return and she rolled her eyes. But whatever, it wonâ€™t prevent me from going back to you guys! Valentina thank you once again and do not change who you are!!!

First time at Joseph's Coffures in the St. Laurent Mall. Based on the reviews posted, I booked an appointment with Valentina. I did not regret my choice. Valentina is professional, friendly and knows her stuff! I trusted her recommendations, and the fact she listened to me throughout the appointment, makes me give a two thumbs up...ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
