BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!!... my whole experience there was a total nightmare! I ended up with Sharie and she was not friendly and seemed to have an attitude and she didn't even bother to formally introduce herself. I should have known when I came in, no one smiled not even the clients, there was just a bad vibe and very dreary in there, but I thought I'd give it a try anyways. She was with another client when I came in, on time, so she had an assistant wash my hair, which is fine because her assistant was very, very nice. But Sharie didn't even bother to excuse herself to come over to say hi and explain that she was finishing with another client and her assistant would be washing me first. Very unprofessional!
And she did not listen to me when I told her several times NOT to cut the length because I'm growing my hair out but just wanted it shaped better. I even showed her several pictures of the look I was going for. She ended up cutting 4 inches off not only the length but overall, and the shape is still not what totally complete!! Seemed like she did not know how to deal with my natural curls?? As soon as I sat in her chair she blurted out loudly so the whole salon could hear and asked if I was mixed and laughed and said everyone was thinking it anyways so I thought I'd just go ahead and ask, which I usually don't mind if it's done with some tact, but it was as if she was belittling me and it was embarrassing, I politely said yes I am, anyways.
But she grossly underestimated my curl pattern. And proceeded to recklessly chop away at my hair while it was wet. Most people with any common sense know that naturally curly hair shrinks when it's all the way dry, whether it's, kinky, curly, wavy or whatever. At first it seemed like she knew what she was doing, then before I knew it big chunks of hair were flying all over the place.
When I initially made the appointment I specifically requested to be put with someone who was good with natural curly hair. To top it all off she didn't even have styling products to style my hair with!? I understand most clients probably want weaves but if that's the case they shouldn't have accepted me as a client...I now question if she's even licensed? I guess weaves are their only interest.
She then proceeded to ask me to actually go home and come back after I styled it!? Never have I been to a salon for a shampoo, STYLE and cut and been asked to go home and come back after I style my own hair with my own products. That was just extremely insulting and unprofessional in itself and and not even possible as I just had a kidney transplant surgery last week, which I informed her about, and she still had the nerve to ask me that! Half the reason I made the appointment in the first place was because I physically have a hard time styling my own hair right now because of my health. The cut was just thrown in because I had split ends and I thought a simple layered style would be easy enough to accomplish correctly, I assumed wrong! Besides I wasn't driving myself and had to get a ride there to begin with. So I ended up having to style my own hair and was still charged for it!
And to top it off towards the end when she saw my real curl pattern she said "oh my kids are mixed and my daughters hair is similar to yours, I just cut it like this too", so you'd think she'd know what she was doing and she didn't. Hell, she looks mixed herself with her light skin and green eyes!!
I just felt taken advantage of and I am extremely unhappy with the service, her attitude, my cut and overall experience.
UPDATE ** I ALSO REVIEWED THEM ON YELP AND THEY IGNORANTLY BLAMED ME FOR MY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! HOW UNPROFESSIONAL CAN A BUSINESS OWNER BE??!! **
