I started seeing Vanessa when I was 15. Six vastly different hair colors, three radical chops, and nine years later, I'm still going to her for all my hair needs. So, it's pretty safe to say that she and the entire Ubuntu team are AMAZING. From Day 1, Vanessa has made me feel amazing AND has kept my hair happy and healthy, even when I randomly decide to spring the decision to go from deep brown to blonde on her. Vanessa is phenomenally talented and has remarkable intuition when it comes to somehow just knowing what you want and giving you exactly that; she NEVER fails to give me precisely what I want, even if I don't know what that is when I walk in the door. Her immense talent aside, Vanessa is an absolute gem of a human and is just great to be around- I seriously don't want to leave the chair at the end of the appointment. Throw in the community and atmosphere that Dawn has created, and you get straight up magic. In short: Vanessa and the entire team at Ubuntu are absolutely extraordinary. If my ranting and raving isn't enough to compel you to see them, I'm sorry to say that there's no hope for you 😉

Love the small space. Love the tranquility. Serena listened to me go on and on and she absolutely got what I wanted. So pleased to have found a new hairdresser. Have been trying out people for the past two years!!!

Ubuntu Hair Studio is one of the best kept secrets around... AMAZING talent in this place. Every time I see someone with a bad cut or color I want to refer them to Ubuntu. Any color, any cut they do a fabulous job and will make your hair look its best. I have been going since they opened and thoroughly recommend them to everyone. Dawn is an amazing color guru and business visionary; Vanessa kills it at color and cuts and Yoshi.. life changing haircuts.. and the rest of the team is just as amazing. If you are looking for your next go to place... please check them out. Small and intimate but full of the best products, equipment and techniques around. And extremely clean!

I love this salon!! I have a lot of hair that is very high maintenance. I have been going to Serena for 4 years now and she is exceptional! I have very thick hair, the color is a rich medium brown with highlights, and I am currently going with my natural curl. Serena does a great job with coloring, highlights, and styling my hair. She is showing me how to manage my hair and she makes it look beautiful and professional. The salon is beautiful, comfortable, and the staff is very welcoming!

As a part of the Ubuntu team, I felt immediately welcome not only by my co-workers, but the clients as well. Ubuntu has an atmosphere that makes it automatic to relax, breathe, and just feel good. As a client, I felt taken care of, related to and even loved. True kindness can't be faked and it is in absolute abundance in this place. Whether you are an old friend of "I am because we are" or a fresh beautiful face, your attendance will be happily met. Not to mention i've never seen a woman or man walk out of there who didn't have fabulous, healthy hair.
