Had a fantastic experience today at Elevations! On a long shot I stopped in without an appointment. Shirley, the owner, had just finished with a client and had a cancellation, so was able to take me right away. I have fine, but very thick hair currently in a shorter cut, which I have cut on my own after several bad haircuts elsewhere. Shirley knew just what my hair needed for the modern, choppy shag style I wanted and she was not afraid to really cut into it. Her handwork is phenomenal with scizzors, razor and texturizing sheers, which she used all of in my cut. She also used wonderful products on my hair, styling it beautifully. She gave me tips on styling it myself as well. She offered a free follow up, should I find I want it shorter after I “play with it” myself; she also offers free bangs trims between cuts. So talented and so invested in her clients satisfaction. How refreshing to have such “big city” talent in our small town. THANK YOU, SHIRLEY, I’LL BE BACK!

I have to give this salon a bad rating based on 3 experiences. 1- I got a wax here a couple of years ago. Chances are the girl doesn't work here any more, but it was miserable. Not only was it painful, but she actually seemed like she hated her job. She wasn't friendly or comforting during something that can be pretty painful. 2- For months they had a sign out front that said spray tan. I called to ask for a spray tan, and it was like I hit a nerve. The response was "WE don't do those." I said, oh, sorry. I thought I saw a sign out front. Response: "We took the sign down." Sorry!! 3- Against my better judgement I went in for a color. I was rushed on time and it was convenient to my house. The appointment went through three phases, fear - hope - regret. I will spare the details, but my hair was so blah. THEN, I about crapped my pants when the bill was just about $200. They charged me for toner. If your color doesn't come out right and you add toner, that's on you. If I come in for toner because my hair gets brassy, then charge me. Don't add $40 because your color came out gold. I just wasn't impresses and to top it off, there was absolutely ZERO wow about the color or blow dry. I left and put my hair in a pony tail and went back to my regular salon.
