Kim W is the best in MD, hands down! I’m always pleased with my hair cut/style. They’ll get you in and out in no time, so your whole day isn’t wasted in the shop. With a welcoming atmosphere and quality service, you’ll be sure to come back!

When I go to Strands Hair Salon in Wheaton, MD I go to the best! Robin!!! Robin is very attentive to the wants and needs of clients and does an excellent job. She's also willing to work with the budget conscious clients if necessary. She does natural hair as well as perms and color. When I started going to her my hair was short and brittle and over processed. In just a few short months she had my hair healthy and shiny again full of body and bounce. My hair grew four inches! If you ever visit this salon ask for Robin. The salon needs improvement and better receptionist but overall was a pleasant experience.

For me, going to Shirley was a waste of money. I was very disappointed when Shirley Gordon cut my medium to shoulder length hair. I asked for a "trim" with only a few layers. I asked for a few layers because I knew my hair had grown significantly and some of the layers had grown out. Shirley cut my hair short with several layers. She cut anywhere from 3 to 5 inches off and cut the top of my hair very short. I had been growing out my hair for the past year and a half and measuring it for progress. The amount of hair she cut off will take at least a year or two to grow back. When she finished I looked in the mirror and my hair looked aweful. I am very disappointed with her service and will not return. I wish I had never let her cut my hair. I paid $150.00 for a touch up and trim that was devastating to me. In addition, the relaxer touch-up was underprocessed. You can see the difference between the hair that was recently relaxed and the older relaxed hair. Shirley did not do what I asked of her. A trim is not 3 to 5 inches cut off the hair. I will never return to her salon.
