Very mean and unprofessional. Also the braids are.super tight..And she want listen to you if you tell her, she braiding to.tight..She alway talking in her Africa language to the other worker that briads her. If you plan on going to this place...bring a pillow and blanket, you will be there very late. Take it from me I know. 13 hours to get my her two string.

I've never been so insulted by a hairdresser. I asked a few questions and the owner of the shop started yelling at me. I want to give a fair review, but seriously, buyer beware. Main point: This is why so many women are going natural. Who wants to deal with hair braiders who take their customers, and their money, for granted. Cons: 1. They only use Kanekalon hair, which doesn't move like real hair. They say it helps the hair stay on longer, but when you put your braids up in a ponytail, your braids stick out like a broomstick because the fibers are too stiff. They braid very tight so the fibers also pull at and damage your roots and scalp. I'm still in pain and it's been weeks. Nope. No time for that. 2. Their policy states customers pay them in cash BEFORE they braid your hair. If you don't like the hairstyle they give you, tough luck! No refunds. Since no one would actually agree to pay in cash first, they braid part your hair before demanding payment, violating their own policy. You can't leave with your hair half done, and people often have somewhere to be afterwards, so they've got you stuck. This is what they did to me. I wanted to pay them afterwards, as I've done every time I've gotten my hair braided (including in Africa), but they refused and demanded payment in the middle. I had to pay them for work they had not completed. 3. It took too long. I arrived before 9am when they open and ended up leaving around 10pm, when they close. I couldn't believe it. Over 12 hours., and I had an important meeting the next day. What makes it worse is that a lady came in after me, got the same style as I did, but left 4 hours before I did. They had two people working on her hair the whole time. For me, they kept taking hair dressers away to work on other people's hair. Very unprofessional and not how you treat a new customer. When I asked why my hair was taking such a long time and why someone who came in after me for the same style had left before me, I was yelled at and told not to look at what they do with other customers. (jaw drop). 4. The owner - Mama - proceeded to yell at me, telling me that I asked too many questions. It was as if I had not paid them $200 to braid my hair and entrusted them with my time. I could have gone anywhere to braid my hair. I guess they didn't realize that and take customers for granted. 5. They did not offer me a single bottle of water the whole time. If I had not brought my own food, I would have been stuck there for 12 hours with nothing. Luckily I don't have a medical condition, but if the person did, they may be in trouble. Pros: 1. The braids are tiny even though I didn't ask for this. However, I've heard from other hair braiders that tiny braids are bad for your hair. 2. I think if they made some policy changes and realized the customer is always right, they could turn things around.
