On July 9, 2016, I attempted to get my son a haircut at Tony's salon. My son previously received a haircut from the owner months prior. Upon my arrival the owner named Tony asked if it was my first time visiting the shop. I told her it was my first time, but my son received a hair cut in the past. She continued to say "I don't do that type of hair". I was taken back by that statement. She then attempted to clarify by saying "I don't do fades or line up". I never implied that I wanted neither of those. She then asked "did you like the haircut the last time". I then replied yes and sat down. As I sat down I informed her that she should have not said "she doesn't do that type of hair". All of this occurred while she was cutting another customer's hair. When she finished with the customer she proceeded say that she did not felt comfortable. She stated that I threatened her by telling her what to say. I continued to tell her that she should have not said that. Also, that the statement could come off as racist. She stormed out of the shop and contacted 2 people. They entered the shop and asked me what was wrong. I explained to them the incident. She then proceeded to call the police and stated that I refused to leave her shop. She never asked me to leave her shop. I left her shop before the police arrived. I felt violated and felt that my 3 year old son was denied a hair cut due to the texture of his hair.
