They charge $35 for a simple hair trim. It was $30 and raised without telling me BEFORE I had my haircut. They could have mentioned this when I made an appointment with them. Really, not that special of a place to pay that much for, like I said, a simple trim on a simple hair style.

Advice to ladies with anything other than straight hair, don't come here! I had high expectations coming into this salon because of all the good reviews and it had a beautiful interior but was very disappointed with the outcome. I don't remember the name of the stylist I had, I just remember she was the newest hair stylist there. She did a HORRIBLE job! If you're paying around $30, you should expect a decent haircut but she absolutely did not know how to work with my hair. The inner parts of my hair are a little straighter and the outer parts of my hair are very wavy. She left the inner (straight) parts of my hair very long and the outer (wavy) parts very short. It did look okay straight but as soon as I washed it, I could see 2 different lengths and nothing was blended or layered properly. I had my boyfriend fix my hair and he did a better job with no experience whatsoever than the stylist did. Very disappointed, did not get what I paid for.

Had my hair trimmed treated and colored by owner Kris who was fabulous!!! Not only was she friendly and professional at the same time, I fully trusted her advice and left my damaged hair in her hands. I had fun with everyone and felt comfortable. Definitely recommend this place! Thank you Kris (did I spell that right?) My hair looks great ðŸ˜ðŸ¤£

This is the best place to get a haircut. I've been trying several places, going to high-end salons in Albuquerque and following any other recommendations that I could, before I found this great place. Mackenzie really took the time to understand what I wanted, and turned my dark red-brown hair into black with a few streaks of blue that are easy to hide for Nursing. It was exactly what I wanted! She was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable, which made me feel completely at ease. I don't think I've ever felt "at ease" at a Hair Studio, due to past experiences being rather lackluster. I was also observing the other customers that came in and out, and everyone was happy with their hair and left with a smile. So I really do feel like my experience with this place isn't unique; everyone loves this place. If you are having trouble finding a good place to have a haircut or dye job, you should really come here first.

The Ladies at the Hype hair studio are definitely a team when it comes to what's best for the clients hair. McKinsey was answered prayers, she revived my sad highlights and made them "Pinterest Perfect" but without any photoshop...soooo happy with my hair again!
