pure nightmare

I asked for the same very short haircut I had before and showed the photos, quite enough to get the idea. Well, they didn't only fail to do it, but they did it so ugly that I'll have to wear a cap at least for a month :(((( I just don't understand why they hadn't warned me that they don't know how to do short haircuts... I also asked for a highlight like the one I had before and a lot of photos were provided. I have no words to describe how terrible it was done... The color remained the same!!! They tried to make some kind of adjustment by applying a tone color shampoo and it got a little bit lighter. Yet the next day it looked as if nothing had been done and it got some yellowish hue... :(( In general no one can even notice that I had my hair highlighted, except for yellowish layers on the top that mixing with my natural hair color make me look like a red haired. :((

HORRIBLE! This place is a RIP OFF. I had taken a consultation with Chloe on a Monday, she was really nice to talk to and we came up with a plan for my hair color correction with no bleach to be used, with a price quote of $120 - $150. Chloe mentioned that she put all of this in the note and all stylists in the salon are experienced and qualified, so I should not worry if I get an appointment with another stylist. I have thick, curly, and frizzy hair and hence Chloe mentioned that while for others the price is approx $80, for me it would be between $120-$150 and the service would take approx 2 to 2.5 hours, which I thought was fair. Since I wanted the appointment the same week, Chloe was not available, and scheduled me with Kat, and this is where the nightmare started. I came in on Wednesday, was seated, and this followed: 1. Despite discussing that I did not want bleach, Kat was pitching me in for it. 2. She seemed disappointed when I said that I did not want a hair cut today, and was only looking for the hair color correction discussed with Chloe the last time. 3. She mixed colors, and came back and asked me to sign a form. When I then asked her to confirm the price again, before I could sign it, she mentioned that it will be upto $300(almost double of what I was quoted at the time of consultation) as it is color correction, and not single process color she said! (No bleach was to be used here, so why the price, is beyond me) It was a disappointing and humiliating experience with a waste of my time. When I asked Kat to check the notes, she said the notes say that the price starts from $150, my mistake here was to not have asked to read it myself. I clearly remember Chloe and me going over this and her mentioning to me that it could cost from $120 to $150, and definitely not start at this price. I came here reading good reviews about this place, but left feeling dejected, and ill treated! Of course I denied the service after being blamed for no fault of mine, and not even being apologized to. I walked back a block, and stumbled upon a salon named ARCO! This saved my day. This was an even better salon, with better reviews on Yelp, and Google, and the owner gave me a 20% off of the quoted $160 for the same service, as a discount after narrating the horrible experience I had at Fox and Jane! Go to the Fox and Jane salon only if you want to feel humiliated! And definitely, do not choose Kat as your stylist if you still decide to go!

Chloe did such a great job with a natural belayage. Although most stylists are shocked with the length and thickness of my hair, Chloe was very understanding and considerate of my features and hair characteristics.

After moving from San Francisco in January, it took me a long time to find a salon. Talented blonde colorists that can craft stylish but natural shades are scarce and can be very expensive. I'm so relieved to have found Kelly and the rest of the team at Fox and Jane. First, its a lovely space which helps when you are spending 3 hours getting your hair done. They are always ready with beverages and a kind word. Most importantly, Kelly knows what she is doing. She is always clear with limitations and managing expectations (a mark of a skilled colorist, in my humble but seasoned opinion) and she likes to work with pictures which ensures everyone is on the same page. She has gracefully taken me from bleached white blonde to a natural dark honey with balayage and glaze. I highly recommend this salon.

When it comes to my hair I'm a very hard person to please. Shay talked to me and took into account everything I said I wanted, she was friendly, bubbly and really took her time to give me a great cut. She is a true professional and I will definitely be returning! Awesome staff, clean and trendy salon.
