Summary. Justin is fantastic and gave me the best cut/color I have EVER gotten. I absolutely suggest you RUN to his chair.
Long story.
My long time stylist recently moved to LA, leaving me with no stylist for the first time in four years. I'm naturally pretty nervous about letting people do my hair. I decided to go ahead and book a service based on the reviews of their other location. This location opened in June. I literally picked Justin off of their website because I liked his bio...I knew nothing about him. When I got to the salon it was very bright and open (two large sunlights made the whole studio drenched in light) and extremely clean. I was immediately offered coffee/tea/water/wine/beer. I took a coffee which turned out to be nespresso (score). Justin introduced himself and asked me about my hair. He asked my daily routine (wash and go, no blow dry), how I style it when I go out (occasional curl), and what I wanted this time around (lighter blonde and more layers framing the face). I showed him some pictures and we talked a bit about the color and cut I was hoping for. He got right to work. I think one of my favorite things is that he was warm, friendly and conversational but not "overly chatty". I'm a little more reserved and he didn't try to force conversation which I was thrilled with. He put in highlights, washed my hair, did a gloss and touched up my base color, washed and conditioned (and gave me a FANTASTIC scalp massage) then got to the cut. I have NEVER had a more detail-oriented cut. He is clearly a perfectionist and the cut was phenomenal. When he finished he showed me multiple ways to achieve the same look everyday (curling iron, blow drying, etc). I was blown away by the final product. It was EXACTLY like the picture I had shown him. He had listened to my wishes and delivered. He has a client for life.
Not to mention that when I went to pay I braced myself for sticker shock. The amount of work (and quality of work) he had done led me to believe I was in for quite the bill (it's happened at other salons). NOPE. This was the cheapest cut/color I've gotten in NYC yet. I swear. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this studio, and especially Justin to anyone.
