I got my hair box braids done here. It was over priced but I went ahead, and it looks pretty good. A month later, I want to get the front row rebraided but I called and the response from the owner was "what do you want? We don't have time." A couple weeks after, 2 braids by my hairline popped out with my hair. I went back twice after the above experience since there's not that many braiding places near me on S.I. I got my hair corn rowed up into two side pony tails. My hair was braided so tight that it started pulling my edges out and leaving those very ugly bumps. I had to take it out after only 2 weeks. I went to another salon the very next day to do a different style and her first words after seeing the bumps in the back of my head were "you just took braids out? Oh my god your hair was tight?" I went back one last time to do some faux locs. I figured I'd let them know not to do it tight this time. I arrive a little after 1pm and explained what I wanted. She continued to nag about how long it would take and kept trying to convince me to do another style or do them shorter than what I wanted. Around 3:15pm she decided to let me know that she wouldn't be able to do it since it was too late. I'm honestly over this salon and will never ever return.

Not on canal st but on beach st around the corner. It was good when it was on canal st, now it's overpriced for no reason. Undependable, open on its own hours, and over priced ($40 for basic cornrows)
