I usually don't write reviews, and I gave myself about three weeks to calm down, but I feel I need to share my experience. I am new to the area, looking for a nice stylist, so after reading the good reviews on Yelp, I called this place and made an appointment a week or so in advance. When I showed up for my appointment, the woman at the reception was at a loss and couldn't find my name. I told her I had an appt with Mel, and she told me that was her. Instead of apologizing for the confusion and rescheduling me, she proceeded to call another woman, who I assume is the owner, and she told me "sure, sure you have an appointment, come on back and we'll take care of you!". Bottom line: I spent FIVE hours in that place! FIVE HOURS! Not because my hair is difficult or because I had anything special done, just because these folks were understaffed and overbooked, and not willing to lose a buck by turning away clients. I, like most women, like to have my own stylist, build a "working relationship". In this place, I had at least three people doing my hair at different times. They left me waiting WAY TOO LONG with color in my hair, I'm surprised it didn't fall out. When I finally complained about the time, two women jumped to dry my hair, which was extremely painful, but at that point my butt was numb from sitting there and I was just ready to LEAVE ASAP. It was the worst experience ever! And for about $200, you could at least OFFER me some water, coffee, something. I had to ASK for water. I think a snip and clip place would be more professional.
On a different note, I am originally from a non-English speaking country myself, but when surrounded by English speaking people, OUT OF COURTESY, I speak English, because I don't want to be rude. It is incredibly ignorant and rude for three women to surround a person (me, in this case) and look at my hair and speak a language I don't understand. I do NOT recommend this place at all. Stay away, unless you have $$ and 5 plus hours to waste on a Saturday.
