Keratin straightening treatment is wonderful if it's done right but can cause a lot of damage if it's not done by an experienced professional. That's why Janine at Von Kekel Aveda at North Hills is the right choice for this treatment. She was careful and precise in using the right mix of Keratin and the right temperature to make sure that I got the greatest benefit from my Keratin treatment. My hair is smooth, straight, soft and shiny ... all because of Janine!

My husband and I have been going to Von Kekel for about 15 years or so. I have always appreciated the cleanliness of the salons and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Shawn has gotten to know my hair and what is best. I am happy that we have found a great salon but new friends in Shawn and Paul.

I called to make an appointment for my daughters Military Ball. After speaking with 3 individuals including the stylist that we would be seeing, my daughter is African American and has tightly coiled hair. The stylist(MJ) walked up to her with the look of fear on her face began gripping my daughters curls and said she didnâ€™t have time to do her hair that she had to leave in 45 min for her daughters recital. I was directed to the manager and was told that I never explained to them the service I wanted. I explained not only did I explain to 1 person I spoke to 3 different people explaining what we wanted when I made the appointment. I was then turned away and told good luck they didnâ€™t have time to take her appointment. I had to explain to my daughter 4 hrs before her Military Ball what just happened and why she didnâ€™t have an appointment anymore. Paul and staff were incredibly rude and dismissive. Simply admit you canâ€™t cater to Africa American clientele and donâ€™t break a teen girls heart 4 hours before her event. Shame on you. Side note: I was 9 min late and you better believe that point was brought up constantly.

Took my 2.5 year old here for his first haircut. I can not remember his stylist name but I am sooo thankful she was the one to do his first haircut. I showed pictures of what I was wanting and she recommended keeping the sides a bit longer since he still has fine baby hair, if it was cut shorter he would look more bald. Our son wouldnâ€™t stop tapping his feet, would move his head when distracted and threw a fit when he got hair in his mouth and she was amazing through it all! She got a towel so we could get the hair from his hands, face and mouth before continuing the cut. She also kept telling him how great he was doing during the entire time. I was so nervous about his first haircut because his hair was shoulder length coming in, and it was his first cut but I love the cut, my little loves the cut and I could not be more thankful for an amazing stylist!!
