Dealt with quite the disrespectful stylist at 3pm today, on December 5th. I’d scheduled an appointment at 3:15. Came in a few minutes early. I was told she has no knowledge of an appointment, but said she’ll fit me in. She then sat in the back and made chit chat for 40+ minutes, clearly no rush, as I’m just another person. and at 3:50 or so I was told “we won’t have time for you today”. Mind you, I was very respectful. No apologies provided, no efforts. Quite disappointing first experience at a JCpenny salon. I’d really assume I’d be more appreciated as a customer. Almost feel like I was seen as a mental patient simply for being confused.

I went to this salon after tracking down a hair stylist that had cut my hair in the past. I was really happy with the way she didn't rush through it and made sure that every piece would lay down exactly like I wanted it to. Well... A couple weeks ago I needed a trim after doing a relaxer treatment. I went to a different salon because Kallie was no longer at the place I had previously gone. Long story short, my hair looked horrible, was completely lopsided and felt like Velcro. I was so very unhappy. I managed to track Kallie down through a mutual friend to this JCPenney salon in Owasso and immediately got in touch with her! First, she shampooed and conditioned my hair with this stuff that made it feel SO silky. Then she patiently worked her way through my hair with her scissors, not once did she use clippers on my hair, got most of the damage trimmed off and smoothed out, and evened out the hair cut into the cutest, most low maintenance style I've ever had! I can run my fingers through it without hearing it rip itself apart. All I have to do is brush it and it looks exactly like I wanted it to my entire life. I've never been more happy with a haircut! Plus she took the time to explain everything she was using on my hair, what it does, why she likes it, and how to use it. She also took the time to slow down and show me exactly how to do what she was doing with the hair dryer to style it myself at home. We had great conversation and I really felt like I was just hanging out with a friend while she was doing my hair. I will definitely be going to Kallie for all mine and my family's hair needs no matter where she is! I am so thankful I was able to find her!

I spent a total of 14 hours at the salon (3 seperate appointments). On the second day I was not charged due to the salon not having the right product in stock. But was told to come in the following day, today, so that the stylist, Valerie, could fix it for $15 under glossing. I was charged $80 (with a $16 discount, making it $64) and when I asked why, she said it was because of “all the product used” but she never informed me that the extra product would end up adding up into the final price. Not only am I highly dissatisfied with the miscommunication between the customer and the stylist but also with the fact that throughout the entire 14 hours, Valerie never once carried a full conversation with me. Put yourself in the situation, 14 hours, in a chair, with nothing to do but to entertain myself with my phone. Doesn’t sound fun does it? And at the end of it, my hair is mostly grey, like I asked, but I still see a lot of gold tints in it which is why she used “so much product” in the first place!

My wife scheduled appointment there and first the lady calls and says shes going to have to do her hair in two different time frames because she has to pick up her kid, which we understood that but her appt was at 10 am and she didn't have to get her kid until 3:30 pm ....5hrs? My wifes' hair is black and all she wanted to go to was a chocolate brown and has used JC's salon in Enid before we moved and had it done no problem in 3 hours. Now for the second part, the lady calls today which is two days before the appointment and says shes too scared to do her hair and they she has to cancel her appointment because my wife box died her hair. My grandmother has owned a salon in Enid for 30 years and we know going from box dying to a salon dye can be difficult but not impossible at all and not longer than 5 hours to go from black to dark brown. We were willing to pay and we was not looking for a cheap hair cut/dye. We will not be returning to JCPenny in Owasso for anything at all. IF your scared to do hair you should not be in the business of doing hair. I work in sales and talk to 20+ people a day and would never shy a customer away because i'm scared to do my job
