I initially went into Regis for a color correction/toning and saw Zahriah. She did a great job! My hair was still more gold than I wanted it but she worked wonders! I was scheduled to come back a week later for a second lift/toning process. Due to a family emergency, I had to come earlier. I was scheduled with Patti. I may have just caught her on a bad night, I don’t know. Aside from her bizarre personality, she DESTROYED the structure and integrity of my hair by leaving about 40% of the foils (mind you, I didn’t want or ask for foils but she assured me she knew better) for about 2 1/2 hours. I went to cosmetology school also; we were trained to do even a full highlight with foils in 45 minutes with timed testing and outcome testing — making sure no bleeds or fried hair. And all of my class passed. It isn’t difficult. But I digress. Not only did the bleach turn out to be horribly wrong, she refused to listen to me about the kind of toner for the roots that Zahriah and I had done previously, literally interrupting me mid-sentence to tell me that she didn’t care what we did before because all she knows is what’s in front of her now. So, she chose a MUCH darker level and more gold tones than ash (which I explicitly asked for). And then the technique used in “painting them in” was as if a child was learning to do hair. I didn’t notice at the time, but after I left I sectioned my hair and noticed bleeds from the bleach, dark roots, and not even remotely natural-looking. Other things were talked about that were borderline unethical or possibly illegal but my goal is not to get her in trouble. My goal is to say PROTECT YOUR HAIR and your money. I spent $360 there in a weeks time and ended up with hair I hate, opposite of what I asked for, breaking and fried, and therefore unable to fix it because no chemical is going back on my hair for at least a month. When I brought all of this to the attention of the salon manager, she offered me to come BACK in for a color correction with Zahriah, who did her best but the roots were unsalvagable due to how dark she made them. She evidently spoke to Patti about some of my comments, which Patti then called my cell phone (and I hung up on her because I was at Armstrong McCall’s buying deep conditioner for my ruined hair) and proceeded to text me her defense and then threatened me with a lawsuit if she face any repercussions for these things. So. I don’t think I need to say anything else. Zahriah is great, if you must go to Regis, see her.
