I got my first baliage done here a couple years ago. It took two sessions to initially get the *amount* of hair that I wanted colored (I was only charged for one, but of course tipped for both, since they went out of their way to be sure I was happy). And I was THRILLED when it was done! The stylist (who is no longer at this location) achieved the exact shade of red I wanted - not an easy task.
I returned for a baliage refresher about 6 months later, since it had grown out quite a bit. Again, my experience was awesome. Tara has been my go-to stylist since that first touch up, and (if she will please just not move away, like my fave stylists in the past LOL) I will be with her for life. My hair isn't easy - it's waist length, and I've worked HARD for YEARS to have it this long and still very healthy.
Tara always matches my custom-mixed baliage shade (I call it Cardinal Cait, since it was created for me to match a photo I brought in 😁), and the placement is phenomenal. Baliage is tricky to do right. Too little and it looks like a home job you were afraid of; too much and it looks muddy - like you're growing out a color you don't like instead of having it fixed.
It also requires *some* variation in the lift/deposit levels, and a somewhat hand-painted effect where the colors begin to change (again, to avoid looking like you just put your own hair in a ponytail and then dyed or bleached it). Plus she did something at the end that left me with hair that felt like waves of satin, but still had plenty of body. I gotta remember to ask her about that, since I'll be going back in soon!
My last appt, I decided to take the baliage a couple of steps further for a fun summer look. Tara used foils to add in some subtle streaks in a more coppery red, and also just a *touch* of almost a strawberry blonde; with emphasis around my face to brighten my entire look. I can't describe how much I love it or how many compliments I've received. You rock Tara!
Really ALL of the staff are great. They are all professional, friendly, and welcoming. Last appt my ends-trim was done by another stylist after Tara finished my color and had another client waiting. I feel awful bc I can't remember the name of the stylist who did my trim, but she did a great job too. Since my hair is kind of my baby, you can imagine I make stylists a little nervous - I'm very blunt up front about how badly I will react to having too much cut off, or any damage done LOL. She evened out the few long layers that aren't finished growing out to one length & also my ends, and it was the perfect amount.
The management must be super smart in hiring, bc the stylists here are more than just a person who robotically does what you say and then moves on. They get involved in the overall health and care of your hair, make suggestions, and are honest enough to tell you if something won't work or might damage it. They will help you plan ahead to achieve goals for your style, which shows an investment in return clientele. It works - they're stuck w me until I have waist length WHITE hair!!!
