This was my second time getting my hair braided. The first time they did a excellent job. This time they didn't do a good job. To make my cornrows look neat they had to sew my braids together and I don't like that because it's hard for me to oil my scalp with the thread in the way. And plus my braids was extra stiff. Wasn't worth the money this time.

This was my 1st time getting braids and my 1st visit to Matu's. All I can say is Amazing!!! The staff and owner were so sweet and so informative. Joy helped me from the consultation and braided me during the process. NO PAIN!!! Just beautiful braids. My color was on point also! I would highly recommend them if you want your braids done right!!! See you ladies next time!!

First time going to Matu. Had my daughter’s hair braided. Staff was quiet but nice. Braids turned out beautiful. Price was great. It did take a bit longer than I hoped. They had to redo a few ends to get her biracial texture to blend well. A great salon regardless. Will be back.

Went to Matu to braid my hair down to do my own sew in and not only did she actually ask me what I wanted as far as placement, she advised me on the best braid pattern for hair growth. She has awesome customer service and a really warm spirit. I came because of her good reviews online and I’ll be back because they’re true. Wonderful lady, wonderful black hair expert.

My very first experience wasn’t a good one .. I was greeted by the owner herself , very warm welcoming! HOWEVER, I showed Matu thee EXACT style & size box braids I wanted her & the girls who played in my head ... I showed them over 10 times .. the First girl braided a big a** braid in my hair & asked if I wanted them that big I politely said no .. she then proceeded to the next & the next so on ... my hair is NOT how I wanted it , for 200$ I just knew my hair would look better than this ... the spaces are ridiculously in the back , front & side ... I’m very disappointed.. I should’ve believed in those reviews 🤦🏽‍♀️... such a RIP off , I’m from MS && trust me when I tell y’all they CANNOT braid believe me.. my hair is a million different sizes ... I WILL NEVER REFER ANYONE THERE NOR WILL I COMEBACK ...!!
