AWFUL and extremely ghetto. I was there several months ago and forgot to leave a review. I called to make an appointment and when I arrived the person I was supposed to have it seemed annoyed and told me she hadn’t hadn’t had lunch. I was passed off to another girl who asked me if my hair was already washed! She was trying to avoid doing that step! I wanted so badly to leave but, I was desperate. Worst experience ever. Go somewhere else!!!!

The owner had a nasty attitude, my daughter was getting her hair done and I was called to come pick her up. I had three other children with me and couldn't leave them in the car, I told them to sit while I had to search for my daughter who was not anywhere to be found. While searching for her the owner asked whose kids they were, I responded mine and before I could ask where my daughter was she states "Oh ya'll leaving soon right" with a nasty tone. It turned out my daughter was in the back, the only reason they get two stars from me is because the actual stylist was a sweet, young lady; but the nastiness of the owner and how she talked me turned me off from this place and I will never be going back.

I took my daughter to the Chesapeake location this morning for an 8AM appointment. Tanye was fantastic. My daughter is 5 years old and has never been to a hair salon to have her hair done. The stylist was not only gentle with my daughter but also listened to all my questions about how to care for my daughter's mixed hair. I will most certainly be returning to Da Notty Roots to have my daughter's hair cut and styled. Also their prices are very reasonable. A cut, wash and style done by a professional that is great with kids for $50? Heck yes I'll pay that price.

☆☆ WARNING ☆☆ "Ghetto" Alert! One word "GHETTO"! Honestly, the worst experience I have ever had at a salon. Be prepared to be yelled at as soon as you hit the door and have your business broadcasted throughout the SHOP by the owner or the owner's daughter (loud and UNprofessional). I thought I was in a barber shop not a salon, where the entire shop gets to know what you are getting done --- No decorum. SMH so very Rude and ignorant staff. It was my first and LAST visit, and never got my hair done because I was told at door that I couldn't get what I scheduled my appt for at that location (diamond springs rd). So Trifling, it was the worst 3 minutes ever. Never ever coming back. Go across the street to Braids R Us they took me right away and I was in and out within an hour AND they know how to treat a new customer.

Very unprofessional. I started my locs with the owner. For my first and second retwist I scheduled my appointment a few days in advance. Each time I got there the owner acted like she didn’t know I was coming. On the second time I went she was doing a loc extenstion and I was told to have a seat. When I sat down her coworker asked her if she knew I was coming and the manager told her no despite scheduling an appointment with her. I left and never got my second retwist because i was tired of the disrespect. I expect top service when I’m paying and tipping well. Everyone in the shop has an attitude, even the person answering the phone. The owner plays music with foul language over the speaker and apologizes after an hour. I would never spend another dime here and I will make sure to let everyone know about the poor customer service. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Don’t waste your time.
