I went to Castle Cuts for years, even before they moved location. Some haircuts were hit-and-miss but I really liked the owner and trusted that if something was really bad then I could trust it to be corrected. I usually paid in gift certificates, purchased so I could get a haircut in between pays.
A few months ago they managed to fit me in for an appointment and I was grateful. I didn't have the gift certificate on me but they looked it up, and I called back after with the code from it. I had been a long time client and this had happened before so I had no doubts is was all settled. A week later I was walking by the salon and one of the stylists ran out to chase me down to the food court wanting me to get the certificate to them or pay ASAP and implying I was like trying to scam them out of a haircut. Right in the food court. I brushed it off at the time but it really started to bug at me. Especially the thought of if mall security had been involved and being done in public.
I tried calling and left answering machine messages. I received no response so I mailed them photocopies of the gift certificate & receipt. I was increasingly upset by being dismissed. I just wanted an acknowledgement that it was settled and wouldn't happen again. Instead I got nothing, and have tried to avoid walking by the salon at all now. I wasn't even expecting an apology, I just didn't want to worry about being chased down like a thief again.
My mother tried contacting and the owner did finally call me with a voice mail but just to say she had been away and hoped I wouldn't stop going to them. Again, no acknowledgement or assurance it was settled and wouldn't happen again. Despite calling back I have received no further response. I'm still avoiding walking past the salon months later.
