I was really disappointed with my experience at this salon. I was new to town and desperately needed a trim and after seeing what great reviews they received on Google I decided to give it a try.
When I initially called to book my appointment I asked for an experienced stylist because, frankly, I didn't want to end up with a bad cut. So the appointment was booked no problem with a very nice young lady named Alisha. I explained that I just wanted my hair taken up to my shoulders (it was just past my collar bone when I came in). I told her that I had been growing it out and just wanted the dead ends off.
Feeling confident that we were both on the same page, we got started - only we definitely were not on the same page. The shoulder length cut we agreed on somehow became mid neck length and on top of that, one side is shorter than the other. When she noticed that I was pulling on the ends to compare the sides she quickly interjected and said that one side was shorter than the other when I came in...I was in complete disbelief - I don't know much about haircuts but I find it hard to believe that, if that were the case (one side being shorter when I came in), that a stylist wouldn't consider that during the consultation and measure the cut to correct it. I asked not to have my hair styled while I was there because I just like to do that on my own but she insisted on adding waves with a curling iron and I have a feeling this was done to try and avoid having me notice the lopsided cut before I left the salon.
So, great, now I'm further behind on the progress I've made on growing out my hair and people that I know have kindly pointed out that one side of my hair is longer than the other (in case I didn't know).
Thanks for the haircut from an experienced stylist Karma. I'll be enjoying this terrible cut for months before I can correct it - at a different salon.
