I just walked out the front door of Verina's a bit dazed and confused, but in the most delightful of ways... From the moment I set foot inside the door, to the moment I left, I felt as though I was in a trance. Verina warmly welcomed me, and although I wasn't immediately aware of it, her kind and caring and competent aura was already enveloping me. I realize only now that I gave her no specifics with regard to my hair, midwesterner that I am, saying only, "I need a haircut." And, yet, she seemingly effortlessly created a look, a feel, a presence, with my hair, that when I finally paid attention to the mirror, I saw a "me" that was true, but at the same time, a "me" that I had never seen before. I am at a loss for words... will I really have to fly 2,000 miles now to get the "right" haircut for myself? My six kids will surely think their dad has lost his mind!
