Bottom line: don't go here unless you know someone who's good.
I got my hair cut here a year ago, and the stylist was totally awesome (and it's hard to find people who do a good job on Asian hair). Nice cut, pleasant atmosphere, relaxing experience. Plus, a haircut alone was only $20+tip. An absolute deal. I'd read that all of the stylists here are good, so I went back today for a trim and took the first available stylist.
*THIS IS THE WORST HAIRCUT I'VE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE*
This woman seriously had no idea what she was doing. She didn't even check to make sure she was cutting straight or that the left side matched the right, and she cut huge chunks of my hair at a time, instead of section-by-section, like every other stylist I've ever been to.
I showed her to cut off less than 2". She ended up taking off something like 3" - 6" (depending on where). She kept saying she'd fix it and add more layers if I wanted her to, but I eventually just had to tell her to stop, since it was only getting worse. The "layers" she cut looked like rat bites. When I asked her to add some feathering in the front, she didn't ask how short to cut it -- she just immediately snipped it off in a blunt line, so I had to let her cut the other side so I'd be something close to symmetric. Plus, I told her I wanted to keep it as long as possible, but now I'm going to have to get a pretty short cut (somewhere else) just to look presentable, since she cut off so much, and so unevenly.
Sure, it was only $20. But considering that I could have put that $20 towards a decent haircut somewhere else and that my hair is now totally ruined and I won't even be able to grow it out long enough to style for my friend's wedding, it was the worst rip-off, ever. I've given myself better haircuts than this, and I don't have any training whatsoever.
