I went here and saw a stylist for a balayage appointment, I had purchased a Groupon. I didn't ask for her to turn my hair blonde but just wanted a balayage that faded from my natural medium brown color to a little lighter of a light brown. I even sat down and said idk what's possible for a color spectrum for my hair but I'm interested in balayage. She showed me a picture, and I said if we can do that I'd love it! So she proceeded to "balayage" my hair....
The appointment went fine, and she did what she did. When she was finished I wasn't thrilled at all with the results, i was actually shocked. But I figured I'd go home and see how it looked after I'd worn it for a few hours.
Let me fill you in on the fact that she didn't balayage my hair, she did a full head of highlights, but left about 1 inch of roots untouched.......So therefore my hair looked like I had gotten a full head of highlights about 2 months ago. It was terrible. It was also orange........ Now, if I had asked her to take me blonde in color I would understand that there is a color transition and you have a chance of going orange in between, but that isn't what I asked for, so therefore it was unacceptable. (Also I've gone blonde before at other stylists and NOT been orange AT ALL after leaving...soooooooo. K.)
After a few hours I couldn't take it anymore and so I just called her told her it was reallly brassy and didn't look at all like the picture SHE showed me and said she COULD DO. She said she'd see me the next day to fix it. However, when I went back she started the appointment by re-toning the color and stated that if I still didn't like it I could get some darker put in. When I wasn't happy with the results of the toner she told me I would have to schedule out about 2 weeks to get it fixed....... My hair was orange....ORANGE. I couldn't go to work with orange hair..........She also argued with me about what my hair looked like, and that I wasn't happy with it. I was like "I have long roots that look grown out and my hair is orange" and she was like "I just don't see what you're talking about". So she's either blind or didn't actually go to school for this, because IT WAS OBVIOUSLY A BAD DYE JOB."
So I left, went to Ulta that very same night, and saw a master stylist. She fixed it and she even noted to me that what Evolution Hair Studio had done wasn't balayage, but rather a full head of highlights. Knew it. They shouldn't be advertising that they do a balayage if they aren't using correct techniques. Also don't show customers pictures off of Pinterest stating you can make their hair look somewhat like that at all, and NOT DELIVER.
Go for a hair cut here maybe... but not a color.
