SHORT STORY- you don't get what you asked for. What you get isn't BAD it just isn't what you ask for. Which can be bad if you already have little to work with ( I.e. short hair)
I have been to this salon twice. With two different stylists neither of which I will name. The first time I went was to get my hair dyed a deep chestnut color with hints of red and have layers put in my hair. I have fine ringlet curls and I'd had layers put in previously ( at a different salon) before to make it fuller and it's been wonderful! Keep in mind this was about 2 years ago so the details could be slightly skewed. First of all the young woman refused to put layers in my hair saying that curls don't react well with it which is VERY untrue. And common knowledge. However I kept my mouth shut for some reason. The haircut is over and we begin dying. She dyed my hair VERY VERY red. I was furious but I said nothing once again . Which I admit was my fault.
Moral from this experience - be more firm about what you want. And vocal if the end result is not that.
A few days ago I decide I want to try again. I called ahead and specifically asked for someone with experience with curly hair. They gaveme an appointment and I show her a photo of a bob haircut and I closed my eyes and hoped for the best. My hair turned out to be a step away from a pixie cut. It's not a bad haircut if a pixie cut is what I wanted. But it isn't. I've always loved my curly hair and this woman cut it so short that a good 65% of my hair is now too short to show curl at all. I was vocal throughout the haircut that I didn't have a problem with the undercut of my hair being short but not much more. The stylist through most of the appointment was either on her phone or talking to others or not talking at all. When she asked me if i liked the haircut when she was done - i showed no enthusiasm for it as she was cutting it- I told her I didn't like it. To which i got no responce like she didnt hear me WHICH IS POSSIBLE. It will take me months to grow my hair out and when it does I will NEVER be going to Melissa and co again.
