I went in to get a perm, something simple not extravagant. The stylist who was doing my hair was polite and answered all my questions. The end result was what I was looking for, a little wave, subtle. I followed her instructions of not washing until 48 hours later. I washed with a non sulfate shampoo and conditioner. It seems to have not taken very well to my hair but I'm not really concerned about that. Its just hair.
However.
I will make a note about the environment at patsy's hair design.
Pros: Family oriented environment. Floors are clean. Stations are tidy. Customers are greeted immediately upon entering the salon, and mostly do not have to wait long to be attended to. They even have a very large comfy couch for you to melt in. The overall attitude is light and homely. They also seem to work with children very well as one very unhappy boy getting his hair cut demonstrated. Additionally, it was easy to talk to my stylist. She was very personable and made me feel comfortable socially.
Cons: The temperature was a bit cold, not good to have with many individuals with wet hair on their necks in the middle of November. The hours were sporadic, based on who comes first that day and who leaves last. The last, and most important, is a stylist had her three children there. She tried to get them to stay in the back but they always came out and climbed on chairs, and messed with products. It concerns me that they are near so many chemicals. I understand that the individual couldn't find a babysitter, but the decision to bring them to work has affected the business as a whole.
Overall it is a good family friendly small town facility that I'd highly encourage taking your children to get their hair cut for a reasonable price. If you are going there for personal "me" time I don't think it is a good place for that.
I may return their for the occasional hair cut or trim but beyond that there needs to be a bit more refinement done on the business as a whole.
