I received crochet braids at this salon several months ago. My natural hair is very short and I had Mimi and her associate stylist look at my hair the day before the appointment. I was thrilled that Mimi said she could braid it . I returned another day and had my hair braided. I did receive a lot of compliments especially after I tweeked the style after I got home. I spent about 8 hours in the shop because she had overbooked and she was very slow. (If you ask her for an estimated completion time for almost anything , she usually says she is almost finished....beware that almost done could mean several hours later. I observed other customers asking her the same question and the aforementioned is usually her standard response...)!
I kept the braids in for about 2 months. I returned to have Mimi take down the crochet braids. She seemed to not be able to distinguish between my natural hair and the extensions. She was very rough and appeared to not care that she was pulling my hair out of my hair follicles despite me telling her she was TOO ROUGH. My hair was very tangled so she used scissors and and fine tooth comb to try to comb /cut out the tangles out of my brittle and delicate hair. After she was finished she seemed eager to get a cover on my head and tried to rush me out the shop so that I could not look at my hair in the poorly lighted shop's mirror . Also, I was her last customer for the evening and she seemed very eager to leave. I felt my hair and was in shock to feel mostly scalp . I was hoping it was not the case.
When I got home, I had better lighting and viewed my hair in my mirror at home. I cried when I confirmed that I had more exposed scalp than hair. Selected family members
were speechless when they saw my head. I prayed to God to restore my hair. My hair is still short but PTL I am thankful that most of bald patches have been restored....BUYER BEWARE!
