This is not the place for any patron who likes to feel like an appreciated customer. The ambiance is alright. I did like the welcome feel, but the decor is not worth the lack of care.
My hair was cut by an inexperienced hair stylist. She was not able to give me a haircut other than a straight across trim. I understand that people learn from experience, and so this was not the issue. I thought I could deal with an "eh" haircut. I paid the $55 and went home. However, I couldn't get over it, especially because of the cost; a customer paying $50 should leave satisfied.
I called the following day. I explained how she did not cut my hair as I asked (was obviously inexperienced -- had another stylist cut my side-bang). I just wanted my hair fixed, nothing big, just shaped around my face and layered a bit in the back. The person who answered the phone was not at all friendly or understanding. She could not get me in to fix it for over a week and I would be charged full price for another haircut. I was not willing to pay salon price to fix their generic haircut mistake, at least not to them.
I called another place in Danville and had my hair fixed that day for a discounted price (no wash, dry, cut; just a fix-up).
It was not the haircut, but the unwillingness to fix the issue that really turned me off. And this was actually the second time I experienced this uppity attitude from the stylists at Impressions (the first was when simply making the hair appointment). They are very snooty and cliquey, and I would not suggest any down-to-earth patron submit themselves to their high price, low attitude way of running business.
