Elizabeth Stewart did a beautiful job on matching my old color to cover my roots. It's a tricky red, but she and Dathan conferred and made sure to get it perfect. Then she gave me a great hair cut. Elizabeth asked a lot of questions to make sure I was getting what I wanted. It's a small place, so quiet and personal. Very attractive space as well. She, and the whole salon, was friendly, warm, professional, and welcoming!

Seriously. Seriously people! This place is fantastic on all levels. I originally went in for a corrective haircut and Elizabeth spent tedious time and gave me a brilliant haircut. She cut it so I could blow it out or wear it with my natural curls and looked and felt amazing. (Ask about the life saving dry shampoos). I went back a week later for color. I showed her what I wanted; fancy word for it is Balayage. Guys! She killed it. My hairs look amazeballs. So they're good at hair but also they are incredibly friendly-Elizabeth, Dathan, Rachel- you feel like you've been going there for years the way they chat and joke with you. And also, they have great prices. So go there and love the way you look when you leave or don't go there and enjoy looking second best. ;)

Dathan Hunter's is a little place I discovered on a recent trip to Portland. It's a neat and modern, yet unpretentious place and I loved the haircut Dathan gave me. As someone with very thick, wavy/curly hair, I have seen most stylists struggle when giving me a cut. Dathan, on the other hand, seemed comfortable with it, instantly seemed to understand what I wanted, and did a great job of chopping down my long and thick hair into a short and funky, yet wonderfully manageable, haircut. The remaining staff was quite polite and professional too. I left very happy and will definitely be returning for my next haircut from Cambridge.

I am new to portland and the first hair salon I went to did the exact opposite of what I wanted. Frustrated, I was calling around and Dathan Hunter had a quick opening where Natasha stated she would stay later in her day to help me. When I went in I was greeted by an incredibly friendly secretary who I later learned was also their make up gal, and a very friendly puppy. Dathan and Natasha listened to what I had to say before they gave their opinion and really made the appointment about me and my needs. I got my hair done on saturday and I think I have recommended the place five times in two days. Without a doubt Dathan Hunter was a fantastic hair salon that is welcoming and reasonably priced for the downtown Portland area. I will absolutely be going back. My hair looks fantastic!

Dathan Hunter has made an incredible hiring decision for this salon in bringing Angie Plummer on as a stylist! I drove over an hour for her to do the most fabulous cut and color for me! The salon has a clean and comfortable atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and make an appointment with Angie @ Dathan Hunter's...you will NOT be disappointed. Angie works on Mondays...likely the only salon in the area that is open on Mondays!
