My experience at Paul Joseph's was without a doubt the WORST customer service I've ever had. I've never been treated worse by a business (by the owner no less). Keep in mind i'm young & have worked customer service jobs, so I'd never be a rude, ungrateful customer. I included a pic of my natural hair, a caramel brown. I scheduled an appt at Paul Joseph's for a cut, blowout &balayage with Julietta. The wavy hair pic is what I showed her I wanted, for my hair to look like the pic & to go from brown to blond naturally. She asked me what I wanted to do w/ my roots & I said keep them my natural color, like the girl has darker brown roots in the pic. At no point during this convo did she tell me that this was unattainable, or it would take multiple sessions. She was confident she could do it. The foiling, washing, & cutting process was good, but upon blow drying i realized my hair looked nothing like what I'd asked for. The back of the head pic is what my hair looked like, like she did streaky partial highlights (despite my paying for & requesting balayage) She asked me what i thought & i didn't want to upset her so I told her it looked nice but is not what I expected. She told me if i was unhappy i could come back and she'd fix it for free. i I left disappointed & later had my friend take a pic, who told me to call & say I wasn't happy w/ the results, so I did & they told me to return in 30 mins. This is where things went really south. Julietta sat me down & asked me what was wrong with it & what I wanted to do. I showed her the pic again & told her my hair looks nothing like it. First, she claimed that I didn't show her that photo, that I had showed her another pic (completely untrue). She blamed me for not using the right terminology, that the photo is an ombre so I didn't ask her for the right thing and it was my fault. Then she told me that I can't expect my hair to look like a celebrity pinterest photo (yet that photo is from a regular salon I follow on insta) & that to get my hair to that it would take multiple sessions. I told her that I wish she had told me those things during our initial consult, and she again blamed me for not describing what I wanted accurately. She said well let's go blonder on the bottom and do a root smudge on the top. After finishing the foils she told me she had to leave & someone else would wash my hair. I said that's fine but can someone blow dry it & she said no one had time. I said I paid for the blowout and that it wasn't my fault it had to be done again, so if I was leaving the salon with wet hair then I wanted a refund. She snapped at me that she'd get me a refund & left. Then she came back & told me the owner said no, so I asked to speak w/ him. Paul Joseph's behavior was appalling, he brought me into the back where I said it wasn't my fault that I was back here & that I paid for a blow out and deserve to have my hair be dry when I leave. He yelled at me that he'd been in service for 30 years & who was I to accuse his hairdressers of anything, that my expectations were ridiculous etc. I repeated all I wanted was to have dry hair and he snapped "FINE ill have one of my assistants do it". I went & sat back in the chair & by this time Julietta was gone & no one was tending to my foils. 20 mins later my foils were peeling off & I had to wander around the salon asking for help. Paul joseph had to check the color bc apparently no one else in the salon knows what proper coloring looks like. It was then washed and blow dried, & the assistant kept dropping the hair brush and hair dryer on the ground, & she apologized bc it wasn't her station. When i saw my roots i became upset- in an attempt to go back to my natural hair color Julietta smudged them to an almost black color. The lady apologized again and Paul Joseph yelled "DONT APOLOGIZE TO HER, THE PHOTO SHE CAME HERE WITH WAS RIDICULOUS." He continued to berate me and ushered me out. The ponytail pic is the final result, w/ dark roots and streaky blonde. Paul Joseph is a bully and his stylists do not know modern coloring techniques, beware!
