I just had my second visit with Lana. Iâ€™m so happy to have â€œfoundâ€ her! The moment you step into L Hair Boutique, Lana welcomes you and the nurturing begins, either with coffee or tea or a tonic. The salon is lovely, intimate and soothing. Lana is unmatched in understanding hair and color and what shape will best suit you. She expertly recommends what color and cut compliments you best as well as recommending products that will enhance your look, allowing you to maintain that just out of the salon look between visits. Give yourself a real treat and make an appointment with Lana.

Lana is a gem. She is extremely knowledgeable and talented, with work experience that spans the globe. Lana really cares about making sure that your hair is healthy and that it is the cut, style, and color that is right for you and your lifestyle. She stays current, and is always willing to teach you how to care for your hair on your own so that it looks great when you travel. If you are looking for a boutique experience with a professional who is not distracted, and focused on you and your hair during your appointment, Lana is the person to see.

I did NOT have a good experience with Lana. My significant experience with her took place in September 2018. I decided to try Lana because she seemed nice over the phone, and her reviews were out of this world. Sheâ€™s probably a talented hairdresser in which I give her credit for. However, I donâ€™t believe her talent gives her a right to haggle me, or any other customer who makes an appointment. First of all, she was super rude to me because I â€œshowed up too earlyâ€ and â€œneeded to come back at our specific timeâ€. Didnâ€™t know it was a crime to show up 10 minutes before your appointment, but okay. Fair enough. I respected that she only wants people inside her salon who have scheduled appointments, at the exact scheduled time. Every salon has different rules. So I walk around Newton Centre for a bit and it was fine. Waited until the specific time to see her, and then came in a few minutes late to avoid conflict with Lana. No customer should have to feel threatened to walk into a hair salon. It was so overwhelming to even be in there, but I was there for a hair dying appointment. Lana starts to wash my hair, then dries it out and start to CUT IT. I said â€œExcuse me, but over the phone I said I wanted it dyed...not cut and styledâ€. The look she gave me was horrendous. She started yelling at me with other customers in the store, blaming me for â€œscrewing up her workâ€, and basically forced me to pay $85 for something I didnâ€™t even want (thatâ€™s almost extortion). Since a full hair dye needs an appointment, she then made another appointment to dye my hair (which wouldâ€™ve been unreasonably overpriced if that happened). I didnâ€™t show up, but thatâ€™s because she never called or emailed me like she said she would. Normally, I would have complained and have already contacted Newton officials and reported the incident, but sheâ€™s clearly just an insecure lady who gets offended too easily. Sheâ€™s wasnâ€™t worth the loss of $85. There are plenty of other wonderful places to get your hair cut in the Newton/Boston area. If you want your hair dyed for reasonable pricing, this is not the place for you.
