* Not for Curly Hair or Ethnic Woman* Ignore the lovely brown woman on the keratin poster... I called this salon on short notice looking to trim my dead ends. I spoke to a polite woman who offered to see me in a reasonable amount of time. I arrived at the salon, was greeted by a nice gentleman and waited by the desk area for the stylist. When she came out she asked what I needed and I reiterated my desire to cut my ends. My hair was in a bun so she asked me to take it down... this all happened in by the front desk mind you. And she replied politely with "oh, I don't do your hair". Apparently this woman who shared my tan complexion and who also had curly hair wasn't comfortable with my hair texture. Now, I happen to be biracial, my hair is not rough or "nappy" it's just got curl to it. This was so embarrassing, this happened in front of everyone in the salon including my bf. The woman wasn't trying to be rude. She tried to save face by advising me to go further down Chandler st across Park Ave... 😠What in the hell?! Any trained stylist should be able to trim ends. Period. I didn't ask for extensions or a perm or a lift. I don't need directions to the ghetto. Please, if you have ethnic hair or curly hair save yourself the trouble because I imagine it won't workout well if they do offer services. I chose this salon because it was near my home and I wanted to give it a chance but I ended up feeling belittled and unwelcome.
