If you are looking for an incredible, accommodating, CARING, amazing, perfect Glam Squad - LOOK NO FURTHER. I do not even know where to start when writing this review. My husband and I got married on 11/11/17 in Grand Rapids, we live in Florida and have no family in the Grand Rapids Area... so when selecting a team for hair and makeup we were really going off of what we saw online and the vibe we got from the coordinators. I had originally selected a hair and makeup artist from my home town and there were some complications - so on top of selecting a team from far away, we were also in a HUGE time crunch. I found Cheeky Strut in August and immediately fell in love with their work and the AWESOME Lindsey Rae. She was so helpful and calm from the very get go when I was freaking out about not having hair and makeup just a few months out from the wedding - we originally booked just hair with them and then a few months out decided to use them for makeup too. To say that I was FREAKING out is an understatement. Lindsey Rae handled my insane emails with such grace and confidence (telling me that everything would be fine and she would take care of us) that I felt great about it all. She was able to give us a detailed schedule of the wedding day so that my girls could know exactly what was going on and be in the right spots at the right time and had breakfast items and champagne waiting for us on the morning of! I also received a spray tan 2 days before the wedding - it was my first spray tan and it was so perfect I want one every day! :) The girls were so awesome, each and every one of them are so cool and kind and hilarious - they all handled my crazy group with ease! Britt did my hair, and it was beyond my wildest expectations - half up half down and then she came to our venue at 6pm to pin it up post ceremony. She is basically a hair wizard

I’m feeling super conflicted about this review. My own personal experience a week ago with Brit was fantastic. She was pleasant, the atmosphere was cheery, and I got exactly what I came for. Brit was fun to chat with and we collaborated on some brainstorming of what I should do next time. So happy that I finally found a salon and stylist in GR I will return to (and I will return for her), I asked about a stylist for my boyfriend...he’s got beautiful long blonde hair. After he consulted me on what cut to get, I sent him with a picture we found. It even had a description: “long fringe, natural movement.” My boyfriend’s hair was easily 6 inches long on top. It is now 2!!!!! 2inches is not long...and that’s just on the top!!! She shaved down the sides wayyyy too high up leaving the width, of what little “length” he had left, short across his forehead. His fade is 1/4”. On google, it said a mans haircut is $25. I’m confused why no one explained to him his different options of levels and pricing. I didn’t even think to bring it up because I figured it was only for women’s cut/color. He was too sweet to say anything about the cut or the price when it was all said and done, but I’m leaving this here because I think reviews are worth something, the good and the bad. I no longer can run my fingers through anything and I have to pretend like it’s fine when he asks me how it looks. ): I don’t know how this could have been avoided, but I wanted the story out there. I wish the stylist would have recognized she messed up and apologized to him. He called me right as he left concerned. Now, we patiently wait months for it to grow back. Ps. Brit, I am very happy with the evo shampoo you helped pick out.

Cheeky Strut is beyond amazing and one of the best hair salons in Grand Rapids. My bridal party and I got our hair done by several stylists and they were each amazing. Lindsey, the wedding coordinator, was great to work with and made the whole process seamless and stress free. I highly recommend Cheeky Strut to any bride looking for a highly skilled, professional, and fun salon.

I will always recommend Cheeky to my friends and family. The staff is always so kind and the building is beautiful. Always look forward to my appointments! As a blonde, before coming here I was always scared to go darker in the fall / winter time. Totally trust my stylist with anything!!

I really liked the vibe of this hair salon. I wish my hairstylist in particular would have been a little gentler on my hair. I have some major breakage due to the hard pulling for a blowout. It could be argued this would happen anywhere but it felt particularly rough.
