Got a Groupon for a cut and partial highlights. I am sorry but I cannot recommend Gina at all. The entire process felt extremely rushed, I definitely felt like she could care less if I came back. I felt like she did not really care about the results at all and it shows.
I have long hair and told her I wanted "a trim" to get rid of the dead ends as it had been 5 months since my last cut. Even though I specified, more than once, that I was totally okay with losing a couple inches, of dead ends, she seemed to take "a trim" very literally and did not take enough off at all. I told her I wanted long layers and she just kind of ignored me. The cut is ok but not great.
My real disappointment is the highlights. I repeatedly told her I wanted very subtle, sun kissed highlights, just to maintain the very subtle highlights that I already had. Since they aren't that far grown out, you could tell where they were and how they were thin and widely spaced out. Nothing dramatic. Unfortunately, she put in way more highlights than I had to begin with and they are totally uneven. Even worse, the ones she put on my hairline where I pull my hair back are sloppy looking and uneven and some of the dye leaked and made a blonde splotch on some un-highlighted hair- it is very obvious when I pull my hair back. It looks like I went to beauty school or did it myself. So it wasn't just that she misunderstood my definition of "subtle" but she did a sloppy job , I guess because she was rushing.
I wish I would have read more reviews before I got my Groupon. Not a big surprise that Groupon posts reviews that are glowing. Now I need to go spend more and get someone who takes pride in their work.
