Beware if you have long hair that you will be charged more no matter what. I have long, thick, curly hair. I have been charged more for having long hair at various salons so I did as much as I could to verify if there was an upcharge prior to my visit. In this particular situation, I had a coupon for a haircut, conditioning, and blowout for $19.00. Nowhere on the coupon does it state that there is an upcharge for long hair. I checked the website as well to see if anything was written and there wasn’t. When I called to make an appointment I told the receptionist that I have long, thick hair and asked if there will be an upcharge on top of the coupon. She said there wouldn’t be an upcharge. I didn’t need a haircut so I just got the conditioning and blowout. They still insisted on charging me and insisted that it mentions on the coupon that long hair is extra. Aftet letting two employees review the coupon they both concluded that it does not say it anywhere on there. Regardless they insisted that I pay $29.00 instead of $19.00. Their explanation was the following: “It’s supposed to say it on the coupon and we have new receptionists.” It’s not my fault that it’s not printed on the coupon and that your receptionists don’t know your policies. This is false advertising and a typical bait and switch in an attempt to bring in new clients. Also to note, when I was nicely explaining this to the front desk the woman was very rude and didn’t even thank me after I overpaid for the service. The girl who did my hair did a good job but was quiet the whole time. (Possibly annoyed that I had long hair or was using a coupon?) Regardless of the decent job rendering the service, I will never become a client due to the unprofessional, unethical, and rude behavior from their staff.
