NEVER go for a Woman’s Cut

WORST Haircut of my life. Honestly worst business experience of my life. ‘Salon’ NO/ Old man Barbershop maybe? Went in for a quick trim, thinking that was impossible to ruin-Wrong. Had a woman spray bottle wet my hair then tear the crud out of it. Nicely left with wet frizzed out mop. Got to my car thinking I’d take a shower and fix the comb mess/it would be fine. So much worse when it dried. Too short, and the worst layering, literally looked like someone put a bob directly ontop of a long heavy haircut. Worst part- I went back the next day and attempted to nicely ask for some money back, show the Owner (I’m very shy this was a big deal) Was told THEY DIDN'T DO THE HAIRCUT 😳😳. They said it was a horrid cut (at least they realized) and they would neeever do this. I must have cut it MYSELF after. I was shaking I was so furious-I’ve never had a random stranger question my character, tell me I’m a liar repeatedly,and REFUSE to look at TIME stamped photos from 15 min after the appt.

Excellent old fashioned barber shop. Rosario and Giovanni do great work.

Excellent in Every Way

I've been going to Rosario's since I moved to New Rochelle 6 years ago. They are excellent for regular haircuts. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Worst Haircut (Heck Worst Human Interaction) of my life. Salon NO, Old mans barbershop maybe. Stopped in for a quick women’s trim. Left with a too short, horridly layered, frizzed out disaster. I’m shy anticonfrontational so I left thinking I’d take a shower and it would be fine. Took a selfie in the car to show my Boyfriend, then cried on the way home. After showering realized it was actually even worse than I thought. I own a business and would really want someone to tell me if they had such a horrid experience, specially before reviewing. The stylist should know, if she can’t do a Woman’s Cut, don’t take a woman’s cut! So, went back the next day to show the owner. Worst decision. The stylist and owner said they didn’t do this horrid haircut (at least they realized it was bad). Told me over and over I was a liar, crazy, and to get out. Refused to look at the TIME STAMPED photo from directly after the appointment. As if I would go home and do this disaster to myself??? I was shaking I was so furious. It was a huge deal for me to go back and speak up for myself, I never once thought It would turn into THIS. Never felt so judged (kept staring at me as if I was the biggest hoodlum), humiliated, angry, sad.. everything. After a trim?!! Still actually blows my mind. Women beware. Gentleman don’t go here. This owner couldn’t be any further from a Gentleman himself. Just imagine if your daughter had this experience. Crazy.

I have been going here for over 15 years, extremely professional and reasonably priced. Since the pandemic in Feb 2020, they are Covid conscious and take all the necessary precautions to protect their customers and themselves. Over the years I have tried multiple different places from fancy to other neighborhood barbers but nothing beats this place. If you are here around Christmas you might even get a small grappa to cheer the season. Highly recommend for all ages.

I have been going to Rosario all my life. I joke sometimes with rosario bed I've been coming there so long, that he's seen my hair, coming in and now going out. In fact, after my mother, he was the first to cut my hair. I love going to Rosario. The guys there are very friendly and the women who does my nails as well, is great. We always get to chatting. It's like visiting old friends when I come home to New Ro.

I still make the 45 minute drive to Rosario's even though I left New Rochelle in the 80's. So many clients I encounter there have the same loyalty, and why not? Nothing fancy but consistently quality results from folks who care about their work.

Beware. The last time I went the man who cut my hair was so careless with the buzzer that I ended up with 2(!) nicks that actually bled—behind my ear and on the back of my neck. Both times he pretended they didn’t happen and I didn’t realize till afterwards how bad the nicks were. He seemed incapable of more than grunts and head nods anyway. I used to go in once in a while though it was sleepy and unfriendly because it was a fair price and I live in the neighborhood. Never again. And they’re too cheap to accept credit cards. I will never walk in this place again even if I’m desperate.
