Hare and Bristle recently opened but the stylists who work there are not new to the business. The salon is located above Petrune on the Ithaca Commons. There is a staircase in the center of Petrune that leads to Hare and Bristle (you can't enter the salon directly from the commons, must go in through the Petrune store).
Inside, the salon is rather small but cozy. 2 stylists work there and each have their own corner of the shop, with 1 hair washing sink to share. I've seen men, women, and children having their haircut by these stylists. They use KMS products.
I've been getting my hair cut by Danielle for years. She does a thorough job, even if I'm just getting a trim, and doesn't make me feel rushed if I want her to change something or do a little more work. Both stylists have a pretty edgy look and so do many of their clients, but they definitely don't push that look onto their customers if that's not what you want.
I've never gone here without an appointment, but they will accept walk-ins if they can fit them in.
