As a person of color, I was quite skeptical about coming into a non-Black owned salon to get my hair done but I have faith in DevaCut trained stylist. Needless to say, I really loved my hair after my service.
However, my issue is with the lack of transparency. Prior to the beginning of my service, I had a consultation with the stylist, Theresa, where I expressed my concerns and needs in regards to my hair. I think this would have been the appropriate time to tell me or any other customer about the extra charges associated with having thick hair (aka black hair) and that the price goes up after an hour. Instead, I was told about the extra charges after my hair had been styled.
As much as I like my hair I refuse to support any business that would take advantage of clients by failing to inform them of such charges. I will not be coming back to Element.
