"Self Image," as they call themselves for short, was in need of a recent review. I was in town visiting family and needed to have my hair cut. I was actually referred to them by another salon in town that was booked for the morning that I was told did a good job. I thought, "Self Image must be good also." Well, they were.
I had a little bit of trouble finding them since GoogleMaps misled me -- they are on the east side of the CVS, not the west side where the funeral home is. Their sign is with another company that is next door, so be aware of this when looking for it if you've never been. It's easy once you know where they are.
Because I was not early as planned I didn't spend much time in their waiting area. It was, however, very open feeling and had several magazines to look through. The gentleman who owns the salon I believe, greeted me and offered to help. He directed me toward my scheduled stylist, Tina, who had just walked into the area. She let me have a minute to flip through the magazines to give her a rough idea of what I'd like my hair to look like -- layers and bangs.
Tina did a great job. I was very pleased with how she cut and styled it. I had washed my hair that morning and left it wet, so she didn't wash it. I don't know much about hair, so when deciding how short and whether to trim the bottom or all the layers she was helpful. She told me she has been cutting hair for seventeen years. I like someone with experience like that.
This evening a friend saw me and complimented my hair. Thanks Tina!
