All salons are different and it all depends on what you want. For me this was not my style of salon. I believe once I am paying good money I should not feel like a guinea pig.
The people who works here are very nice and will go all out for you to get what you want if you have the time for that. The owner told me she stayed till 2AM in the salon working on a customer's hair to give them exactly what they want. I believe if you have to spend that long on someone's hair then the hair knowledge is missing. I visited them the week of my wedding and got there at 5:45PM and left at 10:30PM.
I asked for full highlights and after 3.5 hours my hair was complete and it looked like my color was growing out. I expressed that this wasn't what I want and the owner said I guess balayage isn't for everyone. If I asked for full highlights and they gave me "balayage", why should I just be happy with that? They however offered to "try again". Well that is when by 10:30PM I was exhausted and needed to get out of there and left with brass/orange highlights.
Don't be fooled by their effects to help you get what you want. If they mess up or didn't give you what you want and they offer to fix it, look out. Look out for another chunk of charges for that too. After sitting for 5 hours to just get full highlight a service that is $100 they had the nerves to charge me $15 more for fixing their mess up.
