I was fed up with my hairstyle and wanted a change pronto, looked at a few different places and Effy's was the first one that had immediate availability. I'm so glad I ended up there! Silvia gave layers and movement to my hair while leaving as much of the length as possible, and added the face-framing shape I wanted. I'm so glad to once again have a haircut I can enjoy! I will definitely be back for trimming and shaping as it grows out. (And for this service in this neighborhood, their prices are great, too!)

I usually am never one to write reviews - ever - but I am so pleasantly surprised with my haircut that I wanted to recommend Effy’s Hair Boutique. I have had the same hairstyle my whole life but upon a coworker’s suggestion decided to try an A-line bob. I was scared for the change. Effy asked to see photos of the haircut I wanted and that he would tell me what he thought. He reassured me that it would look good with my face shape and it DID! I have never been so in love with my hair. He did a really good job, incorporated my wishes, and even offered to cut it a bit shorter for free if the cut looked differently when I flat ironed it (vs when he blew it out). I also usually get layers all over since my hair is so thick - but he used a technique where he thinned it in the back yet kept the rest of my hair heavy to pull off the look. I am sincerely very impressed with this cut and for the first time will be returning to a salon in NY! Thank you Effy!

So glad this salon is in the neighborhood. It replaced a KeratinBar chain and I'm so glad it did. They personalize the shampoo and conditioner your receive by having you fill out a detailed form which is quite effective. Great haircut, the stylist listened and did just what I requested. Refreshing!

Great job by Effy. All his suggestions were exactly what I wanted and he did a really marvelous job. Color, highlights, cut and blow dry. He has a really wonderful feel for what women want and need.
