I know this seems petty since it’s been 10 yrs, but I’m still dealing with the affects 10 yrs later. They put a permanent straightener in my hair and it fell out right there in the shop. I looked like flipping St Anthony for months w/ a dang huge bald spot on the top of my head. My hair continued to fall out as it grew in. Even now 10 yrs later, my hair is brittle and won’t grow past my neck and is very thin. Looking back, I feel like I should have taken them to court. This experience has affected how ppl saw me, my self esteem and even at the time how my ex-husband interacted with me. Granted that shouldn’t matter but it did to him and it doesn’t take away from the sting of having him push me away and say...”I’m just not attracted to you.” They should have been more knowledgeable of the products they use. Furthermore, over the years I have come across 2 others that have had the same thing happen to them. What’s worse is that instead of taking responsibility the beautician said is was because of a product I was using at home. Well clearly she knew about the product before administering the straightener that she knew enough to point fingers to it.... because I had previously informed her about it, but it didn’t matter. God forbid anybody takes responsibility for what they’ve done. Now here I am 10 yrs later dealing with the mess they made a decade ago and they just carry on with their 4.5 stars?!!! No!!! It’s not right..... the daily stress that I deal with because I can NEVER fix this. They permanently damaged my hair down to the root where it grows. So if you choose to have you hair done there, keep it simple... cut/ blow dry, simple style. I just would not trust them with anything that requires chemicals ;if they are not knowledgeable enough to factor in or determine if the products u use at home, in combination with the overall health of you hair will effect its ability to tolerate certain products.
