I went to deep in the roots 3 weeks back for a consultation to see if I could get finger coils done before the week of my birthday. I spoke to the receptionist named Joy and wasn't that impressed with the conversation we had in regards to the finger coil hairstyle I wanted. At first she didn't know if they can do the hairstyle, and when I had asked her again she said that the staff could probably do it with the consultation. Now the consultation arrives, I show up to the salon and talked to the owner who was busy with a client at the time. I had asked her if any of the staff can do hairstyle I required and also wanted to know what the price would be. She was friendly and had asked another stylist with the photo I provided if it's possible in which the staff member said yes and that they could try to do my hair that same day, But unfortunately the stylist couldn't do it at the moment so I didn't mind to reschedule a appointment in the next week an a half. Finally I make it to the appointment and my stylist was there, and that's when the problems began. The finger coil hairstyle requires you to first have non-relaxed natural hair in which I had my hair relaxed a month and 3 weeks ago and take responsibility for that and also informed the owner during my consultation, but also the hair style is supposed to twist/ curl out the hair, not curl in. My hairstylist was a nice and friendly person but didn't know what she was doing and had to ask another staff member how to do my hair, but to make a long story short I wasn't happy with the outcome. I paid $65 for the hairstyle and shampoo that they were using and selling that made my hair very dry with no conditioner nor shine at all, and on top of that I also gave my stylist a $20 tip which brought my total to $85 from the visit. The moral of the experience is that if you are looking to get dreads or braids and no other hairstyles, then deep in the roots is for you. But for me I will take my business elsewhere.
